Professional Conduct Policy for Online Tutors

1. Purpose
This Professional Conduct Policy outlines the standards of behavior expected from all online tutors associated with TweakTeach ("the Company"). The goal is to ensure a safe, respectful, and high-quality learning environment for all students, parents, and fellow educators.
2. General Conduct Expectations
Tutors must:
- Act with professionalism, integrity, and fairness at all times.
- Be punctual, well-prepared, and maintain high standards of teaching quality.
- Communicate respectfully and courteously with students, parents, and the Company’s staff.
- Respond to messages and queries in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Maintain a neutral and inclusive tone, avoiding personal opinions on sensitive issues (e.g., religion, politics, race).
3. Confidentiality and Privacy
Tutors must:
- Never disclose their personal contact details (email, phone number, social media, physical address) to students or parents unless explicitly authorized by the Company.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of any student-related information, including academic performance or personal matters.
- Use the Company’s platform or authorized communication tools for all tutoring interactions.
4. Safeguarding and Student Protection
Tutors must:
- Prioritize the safety and wellbeing of all students.
- Report any concerns about a student's safety or inappropriate behavior to the Company immediately.
- Avoid inappropriate jokes, comments, or behavior of a sexual, discriminatory, or violent nature.
- Never engage in one-on-one unsupervised communication with students outside of scheduled sessions on the platform.
- Avoid forming personal relationships with students that go beyond the educational purpose.
5. Content and Teaching Materials
Tutors must:
- Ensure all materials used are accurate, age-appropriate, and free from copyright violations.
- Not share or promote third-party products or services unless approved by the Company.
- Tailor content to meet the student’s learning goals while remaining within the agreed curriculum framework.
6. Dress Code and Environment
During live sessions, tutors must:
- Dress appropriately and professionally, as if teaching in a physical classroom.
- Ensure the background is clean, quiet, and free of distractions, with no offensive or inappropriate materials in view.
- Use high-quality audio and video equipment to ensure clear communication.
7. Technology and Platform Usage
Tutors must:
- Be proficient in the use of the Company’s platform and tools.
- Inform the Company promptly in case of any technical issues that may disrupt a scheduled session.
- Never record sessions unless prior written consent is obtained from the Company and all relevant parties.
8. Conflicts of Interest
Tutors must:
- Disclose any potential conflicts of interest, such as pre-existing relationships with students or families.
- Not attempt to solicit students or parents for private tutoring outside of the Company without explicit permission.
9. Breaches and Disciplinary Action
Breaches of this policy may result in:
- A formal warning
- Temporary suspension of tutoring privileges
- Permanent removal from the tutoring program
- Legal action in serious cases (e.g., child safeguarding violations)
10. Acknowledgement
All tutors are required to read, understand, and agree to this Professional Conduct Policy before commencing tutoring sessions.
